Edmund Rice and Our Lady of Mercy combine at A level for Sports Studies

                                             
 
Pupils from Our Lady of Mercy girls secondary school in Ballysillan will attend Edmund Rice boys secondary this year to study A Level Sports Studies. It is the first time the girls and boys secondary schools have combined to offer A Level courses and could be a sign of things to come in the future. A total of eleven girls travel three days a week to Hightown and according to head of sports at Edmund Rice Sean Fleming, the girls have settled in well. “Its great to see the two schools work together to provide wider options for students coming back after GCSE. Everyone has settled into the new term well and the girls have got used to the new surroundings and facilities. Its a pleasure to have them here.”
