Congratualtions to Owen Mc Donald in year 13 who won the Senior Section of this year’s anti-bullying poster campaign organised by the Northern Ireland Bullying Forum.
There were close to 1750 entries from across Northern Ireland. Owen travelled to the Playhouse Theatre Derry where he received his award from the Minister for Education, John O’Dowd. Everyone at Edmund Rice College is extremely proud of Owen. His poster is so powerful and reflects all aspects of the brief ‘I see, I hear, I feel’. “I used Photoshop to deepen the tone of the photograph giving it a grey sense in order to reflect the mood of the victim of bullying. I used marker to draw on the arms and face because marker is hard to rub off, and this represents that you never forget being a victim of bullying. I used red text as this would stand out as a warning to those who bully. I placed the text across the eyes to show that bullying can happen to anyone.
