Return to school update
The following was sent via email on Friday. (If you did not receive the email, please contact the school office with your most up to date email address).
Good morning everyone.
I hope you are all well and enjoying the well-earned rest.
Last Thursday, we received our A Level results. We once again performed extremely well and that is down to the hard work and dedication of all our staff, pupils and parents. A big well done to all! It was great to see the pupils and share in their success.
As you know, last week, the Education Minister outlined that all pupils can return to school from Monday 31st August. I have attached our new revised guidance in line with the DE document which was released at the end of last week.
I plan to keep induction as previously outlined, meaning that from Tuesday 25th August until Friday 4th September, there will only be 50% of year groups in at one time. Pupils will attend school by Year in group A and B. These were previously assigned in my letter at the start of the month. If you are unware of the group your child has been placed in, please phone the school office. From Monday 7th September, all pupils will return. I hope this period of induction with reduced capacity serves to build confidence amongst our entire school community whilst also enabling us to identify and rectify any issues that arise before full reopening. I appreciate that there may be some anxiety in relation to the return to school but I am confident that the measures we have put in place will help ease those concerns.
There are a number of important changes in our new guidance. Please read the guidance thoroughly and discuss with your child. We have worked extremely hard to ensure everyone will be safe and cared for on their return to school.
Thank you as always for your ongoing support.
Take care,
Mr Berne
