On Thursday 3rd March 2016, Student Council Liaison Teacher Mr Berne alongside Chairperson Pearce McFall and 6 other Council members went to Hazelwood College to commence work on a community garden. The Council worked in conjunction with Hazelwood’s Council to tidy the garden which had been left unused for several months.
After much digging, sweeping and all round hard work, both Councils have created an area fit for the work that will be carried out over the forthcoming weeks. Next week, a representative from B&Q garden centre Newtownabbey will attend the garden to assist both Councils with topsoil and the planting of seeds. A great project and a chance for the lads to get their hands dirty! Roll on next week!
