The second week of online learning is over!

We would once again like to thank all our pupils for their hard work and endeavour this week and our parents for their incredible support.

We are very proud of you all! If you need any further assistance from us please contact the office Monday, Wednesday or Friday for a familiar voice or you can reach us through our email address info@edmundricecollege.co.uk. We are always willing to help.

Well done to the huge amount of our pupils who have taken part in our English, Maths and Science quizzes this week. The competition has been fierce!

There have been some great additions to our online learning platform this week. We created online learning packs for Years 8-10 on our website for anyone struggling to access Google Classroom.

It was great to see our fabulous French and Irish students compete strongly in their quizzes. I know how much they love and miss these subjects so hopefully this brought some degree of normality to their days!

Our top class Technology and Design Department have come up with a 30 day Challenge to keep you all busy and Mr McGoldrick has put up several top class prizes for the winners.

I was particularly thankful to our Home Economics Department for helping our pupils continue to develop their skills at home with some great recipes. Send pictures in of your creations so we can rate your plate!

At this time of great uncertainty, this is a great opportunity for pupils to try and develop their skills.

Time at home cannot replicate the school environment. Take this opportunity to learn a life skill, like cooking! You'll be thankful for it in later life.

My highlight this week was undoubtedly being sent an Edmund Rice College school choir performance from twenty years ago by Mrs McGuigan. The song which is called 'Put your hand in mine' is a fitting tribute to our front line workers at this time. The thoughts and prayers of the entire school community are with you.

Now remember what is important; Turn off the computers and look after yourselves and your families.

Take care!

Mr Berne.
