The Student Council was established in Edmund Rice College in January 2008. It provides a forum for pupils to help create a more positive school community and aims to enhance the lives of students within the school. It also aims to represent the needs, concerns and aspirations of the student body to the rest of the school community.

The Student Council comprises of 12 Student Councillors, two representing each year group.

Their role is threefold-

• Doing things
• Asking for things and
• Raising awareness.
